I work in many art forms, but my main work is always tapestry. It keeps me grounded and peaceful, and somehow, it is usually the way I best express myself. After one of my trips to Scandinavia, I realized how beautiful light and simplicity affect art. So my mantra became simplify, simplify, simplify!!! When I chose to depict the water, I spend endless hours looking at its always changing and moving surface. I layered a second, more finely rendered drawing over the first drawing to capture its movement just the way I wanted it.

| The last few years I decided I needed to weave some more images concentrating on nature and patterns. First came Northwest Sanctuary, which was my impression of the rainforest here. I then decided to carve three cedar poles with different leaf patterns to be in front of the tapestry, so people would be surrounded by the pattern of the forest instead of outside looking in.
